Microsoft continues the strategy of attracting Office application users to Office 365 subscription packages.
To a degree that particularily is about business customers, Microsoft has announced that the next version of Microsoft Office will work exclusively with the Windows 10 operating system. That puts the remaining companies to the Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 operating system in the choice between upgrading workstations of Windows 10 make subscription to Office 365.
This mesure does not affect Office for Mac users, being a product separate from Office 2019 edition for Windows, having its own launch calendar and pricing grid.
At the same time, Microsoft also makes adjustments to the length of time Office 2016 users will receive free technical support, guaranteeing full support for 5 years from launch and “about 2 years of extended support”.
Microsoft will launch Office 2019 in the second half of this year. The package will include the regular collection of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook applications, along with server versions for Exchange, SharePoint, and Skype for Business applications
